Very inaccurate article, like Joseph Bergevin has already said, ASP.NET can be used
with any DB, and also different languages not only VB. If you use C#
it also resembles C++ / Java.
You are not tied to IIS, there’re other servers which can run ASP.NET and they’re are also free.

This is a great article. I completely agree, and website navigation is definitely the most important part of a website, closely followed by the color scheme/theme or layout of the website.

Andy makes a great point “Think of your website as an outfit.”. I like that and will likely say that sometime when it’s relevant.

This is wrong. Images are in almost all cases the copyrighted work of the creator of the image, just as software is the copyrighted work of the developer. Certain images may be made available for use free by their creator under “creative commons” or similar programmes. For example flickr may now be searched limiting results to images which have been made available for certain permitted usages under certain conditions such as crediting. For most images, unless you have the clear permission of the creator of the image you may not use it.

I agree! A careful choice of your colors and style can have a long term effect on the success of your site. Think of your website as an outfit. Would you dress your product up in something from “The House of Tacky”? It seems like a silly question, but people do it everyday. Make careful choices that dress your site for success.

ASP.NET will not run efficiently on Apache, I know this from practical experience. Do not try this at home - ASP.NET is for Windows servers only.
