What you need to have an inquisitive set of mind and perseverance for learning the tricks of web development; that’s all. You can do a number of things such as editing flashy texts, inserting images in a website etc by utilizing diverse features Dreamweaver. Before you start creating a website in Dreamweaver, you have to define that website in Dreamweaver before anything else. Here we have discussed the entire thing in an easy step-by-steps format so that a novice person can follow them without facing any problem.
Step 1
In order to define your website, you have to go to the site option and select new site option. After that, you have to put your website URL in the Site Definition for Layout window option. Then click next button and choose “No, I do not want to use a server technology.” Click next and select the folder where you want to save files of HTML, CSS and Images. Click next and choose “None” option from the remote server menu. Click next and check out the summary page before pressing the button done.
Step 2
After that you have to concentrate on creating the home page or index page of your website. Go to File Menu and select new. This will pop up a page with a number of options. Just select HTML document type and save it in the same places, which you have selected previously.
Step 3
You have to select the design view option before proceeding further. Make sure that you have chosen Common from the Insert tools. Then click on the table icon from the menu and take one row and one column. Table should be of 800-pixels width. Be sure to put o in Border, CellSpace and CellPad. Then select the whole table and align it center.
Step 4
After selecting the cell of the table, insert the header images and logo one by one by clicking the image icon. If you want to add a flash header or flash file, just click on the Media Flash Icon for this purpose.
Step 5
Click the table icon and choose a table with 1 row and 4 columns for inserting buttons.
Step 6
Each cell should have a button in it. First type Home in the first cell and chose the font “Ariel Helvetica, Sans-Serif” and size 12 which is standard. CSS style will be automatically created automatically. You can open CSS style window from Window> CSS style.
Step 7
Type Products in the next cell and then follow the Step 6 thoroughly. Choose the color and the font accordingly. Style2 will be created automatically. After that, create rest of the buttons such as Contact Us, About Us etc.
Step 8
Create a table with 1 row and 2 columns just under the button’s table. In the left column, copy and paste body text. Add news section in the right column. You can add image, icons or header graphics before the text if you wish.
